On the twelfth of August 1998 Scotlandium Futurama seeds were planted in the grounds of the British council at 3 Bruntsfield Crescent Edinburgh. The seeds thrived in their specially constructed closhes and soon developed into full fledged flying thistles. They were displayed in an illuminated vase within the reception area of building. It was thought to be more than appropriate that Scotland's beautiful emblem should develop wings in the year when it gained it's new Parliament.
